Sladki grižljajčki Fairy Monkey / Fairy Monkey cakepops

Prijateljica je spet imela posebno željo - cakepopse v obliki opice in to ne katerekoli, ampak Fairy Monkey. "Hm, ok, bom poskusila, ampak nič ne obljubim," sem ji odvrnila. Kar nekaj časa sva skupaj iskali najboljšo rešitev za največji problem - ušeska. Kako jih sploh izdelati in kako si delo tudi najbolj olajšati? Razmišljali sva, da morava najti nekaj, kar lahko potisnem v osnovno kroglico in potem oblijem s čokolado. Ampak kaj bi to bilo? Biti mora prave oblike, velikosti, okusa. Hm, hm, hm. Pomislili sva na čokoladne kapljice, ki pa niso bile prave velikosti. Lističi mandljev so prekrhki. Poskusila sem s pinjolami, ki pa so bile prav tako premajhne. Obe sva pomislili tudi na pisane čokoladne bonbončke (Smarties), ki pa so bili kar malo preveliki. Potem pa je prijateljica našla Mini smartiese! In ti so bili ravno pravšnji! :)
S končnim rezultatom sem sicer kar zadovoljna, še vedno pa nisem zadovoljna z ušesi, ki sem jih naredila previsoko in tako so opice postale bolj podobne kravam ali medvedkom. No, ampak ok, baje so bili slavljenka in povabljenci zadovoljni z izgledom in okusom. Me veseli in vse najboljše!

I made Fairy Monkey cakepops for my friend's child birthday party. I wasn't sure how to make them, especially the ears, but finally we found a solution - Mini Smarties.
I am satisfied with the result, only the ears make monkeys look more like cows or bears. But children were content with look and taste, so I'm happy! :)

Torta za dobrodošlico / Welcome back cake

Prijateljica Daša se je po letu in pol vrnila na severno poloblo in po res dolgem času sva se spet videli. Ves čas sva bili v stiku preko interneta, kar je res super možnost - ena tukaj, druga na drugem koncu sveta, večkrat pa sva bili bolj povezani in "bližje" kot z nekom, ki je morda moj sosed ali živi v sosednjem kraju!
Po dolgem času sva skupaj preživeli dan in se imeli res lepo. Spekla sem ji tudi tortico, ki sem ji jo že dolgo obljubljala in vesela sem, da ji je bila všeč.
Daša, dobrodošla doma!

My friend Daša came back home after a year and a half from southern hemisphere. All this time we talked via internet which is really cool and I felt we are more connected than with somebody who lives near me! After a long time we spent a beautiful day together. I baked her a cake and I'm glad she liked it.

Idejka na Poročnem sejmu na Jesenicah / Idejka at Wedding fair in Jesenice

Pred mesecem dni se je Idejka predstavila na Poročnem sejmu, ki je potekal v mestu jekla in cvetja - na Jesenicah. Odvijal se je 2 dni, 14. februarja - prav na dan zaljubljencev - in 15. februarja 2014 v Kolpernu na Stari Savi (stari del Jesenic). Sodelovalo je precej ponudnikov poročnih storitev - od fotografov, maskerjev, slaščičarjev ...- Idejka pa je izstopala zaradi unikatne ponudbe poročnih in naprsnih šopkov in drugih izdelkov iz blaga ter ročno izdelane dekoracije za "handmade" poroko.

A month ago Idejka took part at Wedding fair in Jesenice - a town of steel and flowers. The fair took place on 14th of February - right on the day of love - and 15th of February 2014 in Kolpern at Stara Sava (old part of Jesenice). There was a big offer of wedding services - photographers, make-up artists, confectioners ... - but Idejka stepped out for her unique offer of wedding bouquets and boutonniere and other accessories made of fabric and decoration for handmade wedding.

Rojstni dan po mehiško / Mexican birthday party

Prijateljica Anja me je navdihnila z rojstnodnevnim menijem za svoj rojstni dan: postregla nam je tortilje! Kako super, saj si vsak lahko izbere svoj nadev! Pripravila je tudi odličen avokadov namaz, njami!
Ko je pred nekaj dnevi mož praznoval rojstni dan, sem želela ponuditi malo drugačen narezek in tako sva se na koncu odločila za mehiško obarvan jedilnik. Ker ravno izdelujem označevalce jedi za restavracijo, sem bila v elementu in jih izdelala še za rojstnodnevno večerjo.

My friend Anja inspired me with the birthday menu when she celebrated her birthday: she served tortillas! That's a great idea because everybody can pick a stuffing by his choise! She also prepared a delicious avocado spread, yummy!
A few day ago my husband celebrated his birthday and we wanted to serve a bit different cold cuts to the guests so we decided to prepare a Mexican menu. I'm preparing food signs for a restaurant so I was in a perfect mood to make some more for our party.









Izdelava označevalcev jedi ni zapletena: trši papir zrežemo na primerno velike kose, na sredino napišemo ime jedi in dodamo poljuben vzorec. Pri izdelavi označevalcev sem uporabljala flomastre in domišljijo, da sem dosegla "mehiški videz". Simbol paprike sem dodala, da vsak ve, katere jedi so pekoče.

It's easy to make food signs: cut the paper, write a name of the dish in the middle and add a pattern. I used markers and my immagination to get the "mexican look" of the signs. With pepper I marked spicy dishes.

Pust: Pustna torta / Carnival: Carnival cake

Za praznovanje rojstnega dne v pustnem času sem spekla torto veselih barv. Ni mi uspela po načrtu, a je bila vsaj priložnosti primerna.
Za podlago sem spekla biskvit, v katerega sem naribala nekaj jabolk. Med peko je vse izgledalo ok, med ohlajanjem pa se je torta sesedla. Biskvit je bil drobljiv in prenizek za prerez, a je bil vsaj sočen. Tudi s kremo sem imela drugačne načrte. Na koncu sem zmešala skuto, sladkor, cimet in banane in s tem prelila torto. Okrasila sem jo s pisanimi bonbončki, da sem vsaj malo popravila prvi vtis.

For the birthday celebration in the time of Carnival I baked a cake in joyful colours. It didn't go as I wanted to, but it was at least time appropriate.
For the basic I baked a bisquit with a few grated apples added. While baking everything looked ok, but when cooled the cake basic got a hole in the middle. It was crumbly and too low to cut, but it was juicy. I planned something different with a filling also. At the end I mixed curd, sugar, cinnamon and bananas and poured everything over the cake. I decorated it with candy in vivid colours to correct the first impression.

Pust: Krofi lojtrce / Carnival: Ladder donuts

Ne maram krofov oz. nisem njihova ljubiteljica, ampak za pusta jih pa jem z velikim veseljem. In to kar take brez marmelade! :) Najraje imam krofe moje stare mame, ki so preprosto božanski, tisti kupljeni se lahko skrijejo. 
Letos sem se prvič lotila peke krofov tudi sama. Pred tednom dni se mi je tako zluštalo krofov, ki jim pravim kar lojtrce, da sem si danes izpolnila željo, hihi. :) V zvezku z recepti sem poiskala mamin recept in poskusila, če mi bodo že prvič uspeli tako dobri, kot vedno uspejo mami. In so mi, le malo preveč sem jih zapekla pa še sladkorja v prahu mi je zmanjkalo. :) Ampak nič hudega, zelo okusni in dokaj sladki so že sami po sebi, sicer sem jih pa itak pomakala v navaden, precej droben kristalni sladkor. Raje ne povem, koliko sem jih že pojedla! Če so pa sveži najboljši! :)

I'm not a donut lover, but for Carnival I enjoy eating them. I don't even need marmelade! :) Those baked by my grandma are the best!
Today I tried to bake donuts the first time in my life. I really wanted to eat them a week ago and today I made my wish come true, hihi. :) In my recipe book I found my grandma's recipe and I tried to bake donuts as good as hers in the first try. And I succeeded! I just baked them a bit too much and I ran out of powdered sugar. :) But that's not a problem, donuts are very tasty and sweet without sugar added. Anyway, I dipped them into regular sugar. I'm not gonna tell you how many did I eat! Just because the fresh one are the best! :)
